This afternoon at about 4:30, I saw the Chemong Road Snowy Owl perched on a hay bale in the field behind McLeod’s Water Treatment. McLeod’s is located on the west side of Chemong Road, just north of the lights at Line 3/County Road 19. The bird was seen in the same general location at 9:30 this morning, too. It is almost always on the hay bales, the cedar rail fence or one of the piles of snow. The field behind McLeod’s is best observed from Line 3/County Road 19. A pair of binoculars is helpful.
