This morning Warbling Vireos were singing throughout the park at the Lakefield Marsh. A Green Heron flew in and landed on the tallest tree by the viewing tower, and an American Bittern was calling regularly from the back of the marsh.

I had an e-mail last night with a photo of a Great Gray Owl taken yesterday afternoon on Stony Lake Rd. I am trying to get a more detailed report of exactly where on the road the bird was seen and will post the info when available.

Yesterday I walked the TCT between Blezard Line and Cty Rd 38 looking for butterflies. With the third hot sunny day in a row I thought the butterflies would be out in their dozens. I saw precisely one Spring Azure!! Where are they all? Birds were a little better with a Broad-winged Hawk, and a Yellow Warbler and a Nashville Warbler both singing. My second Eastern Kingbird was also seen. On Base Line, at the high point west of Heritage Line near McGregor Bay Rd a Vesper Sparrow was singing.
