I thought I would let you know that a Whip-poor-will was reported to me on May 6th on the east side of Gold Lake. The lady heard it at 3:00 am, and had not heard one for years. Suitable Whip-poor-will habitat was possibly created by the wind storms of recent years. On May 12, at 8:30 pm, my parents also heard a Whip-poor-will outside their kitchen window at 1893 County Road 507, near Charlie Allen Road. They also have an on-going visit by a single (usually) Sandhill Crane.
