Today on Nichol’s Cove Road I had four Golden-winged Warblers. Three were males all singing the typical Golden-winged song and the forth was a female associating with one of the males. The Brewster’s Warbler that I saw last week was also still present and singing the typical Blue-winged Song but only very occasionally. It has a distinguishing black spot on its forehead. A Black-billed Cuckoo was also calling in the area. On Tate’s Bay Road, I had two Golden-winged Warblers, one hybrid that looked like a Golden-winged with a yellowish upper breast, and a male Blue-winged Warbler. On Tie’s Mountain Road, I had a singing Canada Warbler and the continuing Yellow-billed Cuckoo that vocalized once near the end of the road.
